The Leatherworks co store undertakes leather restoration and repair of premium luxury bags, shoes (leather, sneakers etc.) and other goods. The store acts as a pickup and drop-off points for these goods as well as a retail outlet for sub-brands, maintenance products and second hand luxury goods. The retail store was designed as a warm sanctuary in an earthen tone with a façade in which gold is carved or chiseled out of the existing granite cladding of the mall. The store faces west and is next to open corridor and receives adequate sunlight.
Minimalism albeit was reinterpreted with a reddish brown textured wall render and dark brown wooden shelves for the display design. The space was tiny with a high ceiling and a double height space with a curved stone veneer cladding planned right at the entrance. Initially the cladding in the form of a doubly curved band was of PVD coated SS but due to technical and cost reasons stone veneer was chosen. As is often said the details make the design and we tried blending the classic luxury of a chess patterned flooring reinterpreted in deep red chocolate brown and white stone with golden details, dark woods and the reddish brown wall tones. The facade also refers the architecture of select city walk and the neighboring malls where the arch has been used as a design element.
